Phoenix is a Pigeon I raised after a friend had her air conditioner replaced and found two baby pigeons underneath. She wasn't quick enough to save the other one from Ravens that swooped down and got it. After almost 2 months of hand feeding, Phoenix finally started eating on his own. He was half grown, so feeding him was a challenge. :) 
Phoenix began following me all over the property and regularly greets guests by landing on their heads. I received a tgext message with the photo above from a volunteer who lives about a mile from MOP. Apparently Phoenix went to visit him and, as you can see above, perched right on top of his head. Phoenix was the first to ride the donkeys.  Now Ruh Roh rides the donkeys all the time.
